Description:

Evidence is accumulating that links infection and chronic inflammation to arteriosclerosis. Most microorganisms in endodontic infections are known to adapt over time to live in many different environments, and can establish lifelong chronic infections in their hosts. In this session, biofi lms in heart and vascular tissues with bacteria commonly found in endodontic infections will be shown, supporting the hypothesis that infection is an important factor in the etiology and progression of cardiovascular diseases.
