Description:

Conventional endodontic therapy has undergone dramatic change in the last decade. Challenging cases that were previously considered impossible to treat successfully are approached confidently today and treated with high predictability and success. This presentation addresses the critically essential elements of success by reviewing current concepts, technologies, and techniques which deliver predictable and high quality endodontic treatment. If you would like to obtain relevant and practical information to be used efficiently and logically in your everyday clinical endodontic practice, this conference is designed with you in mind.We will sequentially review all phases of the endodontic treatment process, from diagnosis to coronal restoration, with special emphasis on rotary shaping techniques and hydrodynamic disinfection of the root canal system. Multiple technique animations and live video-clips illustrating cleaning, shaping, and obturation of root canal systems will be shown to hopefully take effective clinicians into a level of higher performance and personal satisfaction.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Importance of establishing accurate diagnoses via reliable pulp testing techniques.
  • Relationships between pulpal breakdown, root canal systems, disease flow and significance of location of endodontic lesions.
  • Simple mechanical objectives of root canal shaping which facilitate 3-D cleaning and 3-D obturation.
  • Review of tips and tricks to identify, negotiate and safely treat hard-to-find canals.
  • Advantages of the crown-down technique, heat waves of condensation, and sealer hydraulics in 3-D vertical compaction.
  • Reliable management of working length determination techniques and apical patency.
  • Features and benefits of ultrasonic instruments and NiTi rotary systems.
  • Understand the phenomenal power and versatility of the operating microscope.
  • Rationale for practical and predictable non-surgical re-treatment of the failing case.
  • Appreciation and importance of achieving a well designed follow-up coronal restoration.
