Description:

Bone Grafting & GTR Level 1:

Today, conscientious clinicians are obtaining predictable results grafting fresh extraction sockets for ridge preservation utilizing the newest bone replacement materials and guided tissue membranes. These procedures ultimately result in improved esthetics, simplified prosthetics and importantly, happy patients.

Guided bone regeneration can be easily introduced into your practice beginning with the highly predictable procedure, extraction socket grafting. This procedure will result in preservation of the alveolar structure and protection of the surrounding soft tissue allowing for the ideal treatment plan for your patient.

The first step for a successful socket graft is an atraumatic, instrument assisted extraction. Then, the proper preparation of the socket is key. Which graft material to use will depend upon the treatment plan for the patient. An examination of a wide variety of products will give the clinician an insight into product selection for every specific application.

A masterful approach to solving the problem of: (1) voids around the placement of the immediate implant (2) grafting to maintain the bony housing around an extraction site for esthetics and (3) grafting sockets to obtain the optimal amount of bone for implant placement will all be discussed with numerous clinical examples.

Upon the completion of this seminar and the hands-on exercises, you should be familiar with the when, why, and how of basic bone grafting in your practice. Please join us for this fun filled seminar and hands on course to kick-start your grafting successes.

Bone Grafting & GTR Level 2:

Guided bone and guided tissue regeneration are important parts of clinical dentistry. The Level II Guided Bone & Guided Tissue Regeneration workshop will begin by reviewing the basic information presented in the Level I seminar that included bone graft materials, membranes and the necessary instrumentation needed for socket grafting and ridge preservation.

Patients often present with more complex grafting needs than the simple tooth removal and socket graft. The contemporary clinician should be able to offer these patients regenerative therapy to reduce periodontal defects and concerns and to increase the existing volume of bone to expand the treatment options for the patient.

Horizontal (often referred to as onlay) grafting techniques including flap designs and suturing techniques will be discussed. Reducing vertical bone loss in the maxillary posterior with the “osteotome sinus bump” will also be addressed and both situations are practiced on anatomically correct models during the hands-on exercises.

Upon the competition of this seminar and the hands-on exercises, you should be familiar with the opportunities available to increase the alveolar ridge in both horizontal and vertical dimensions as well as reduce periodontal pocket depths, design and execute successful flaps with tension free suture closure. Please join us for this fun filled seminar and hands on course to expand your guided bone and guided tissue regenerative techniques.
