Description:

"Burning Mouth Syndrome - What is It?" is designed for all dental health care workers: dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and other dental personnel. The course will cover the definition, etiology, pathophysiology, signs, symptoms and drugs used in the management of burning mouth syndrome. Discussions will include the dental implications and management. The course format is lecture with case presentations. Audience participation is encouraged.

After the completion of the course the participant will know the definition, etiology, pathophysiology of burning mouth syndrome. The participant will know the signs, symptoms and significance of burning mouth syndrome and its relationship to women and menopausal women. The participant will know how to evaluate, manage and treat burning mouth syndrome. The participant will know the dental significance of burning mouth syndrome.
