Description:

Clinical problems associated with dental occlusion can be frustrating for both the dentist and the patient. Yet, nearly all restorative procedures, from simple to complex, involve some kind of change to the patient's occlusal condition. In this course, the participant is introduced to simplified diagnostic procedures which are both practical and evidence-based. Successful plans of sequenced treatment are presented and outcomes discussed.

Upon completion of this course participants will be familiar with:

  • A structured exam and diagnostic procedures to develop a principle-centered plan of treatment
  • Answering the question of "What is ideal and who really has it?"
  • Signs and symptoms of oral function and dysfunction
  • Guidelines for occlusal therapy focusing on why treatment choices should be based upon and follow proper diagnosis
  • The use of splints in treatment of occlusal problems
