Description:

The Dental Board of California now requires that all dentists, registered dental hygienists and registered dental assistants take two units of dental law and infection control every two years in order to renew their licenses. The dental law portion requires a discussion of:

  • The Dental Practice Act
  • Dental auxiliaries
  • Scope of practice
  • Prescription of medications
  • Renewal of license

The dental law lecture, presented by Mr. Ronald P. Goldman, an attorney with over 25 years of experiences representing dentists, will meet and exceed these requirements in an informative and practical manner. In addition, you will gain insight into risk management and record keeping issues for the new millennium.

The infection control portion will be presented by Molly Newlon, DDS, MS, a dental compliance expert with many years of experience. In a fast-paced, information-packed, lecture, she will change your thinking about infection control and dental compliance. The lecture will demystify and simplify OSHA, Dental Board and Department of Health Services' regulations at the same time establishing a higher standard for patient and staff safety. Participants will be provided with precise how-to-information and instructions for getting the practice into compliance quickly and eliminating the fear of inspections once and for all! You will also review bloodborne diseases and current infection control regulations that meet the California Dental Board requirements.

    Special Benefits:

  • Practical tips for improving your risk management and record keeping procedures
  • Update your knowledge of the California Dental Practice Act
  • Establish systems for preventing cross contamination and reduce personal exposure to workplace hazards
  • Provide high standards for patient and staff safety that assure regulatory compliance
  • Confidence in preparing for regulatory and insurance inspections
