Description:

Infrequently, but on occasion, endodontic surgery is required to retain certain, critically essential teeth. When interdisciplinary treatment planning favors this corrective procedure, are you trained and confident to perform a wide range of periradicular surgical procedures? Is your decision to perform surgery limited by tooth type or position? Are you looking for a state-of-the-art, endodontic microsurgical course?

Course Objectives

Most endodontic failures can be successfully retreated utilizing nonsurgical retreatment techniques; however, certain cases cannot be salvaged short of surgical correction. Emphasis will be placed on the role of microsurgical techniques to resolve a wide range of clinical problems in both the anterior and posterior teeth. This two-day course will utilize superb photographic and video documentation to show advanced surgical concepts and techniques.

Participant Objectives:

At the completion of this program, you will be able to:

  • Compare each interdisciplinary treatment option and prognosis.

  • Organize the entire surgical procedure in advance to avoid surprises.

  • Differentiate anesthetics, the volume, and best locations to achieve surgical hemostasis.

  • Identify the instruments and techniques for atraumatic soft tissue management.

  • Manage curettage and apicection procedures with emphasis on anatomical structures.

  • Achieve hemostasis and crypt control during the critical phases of surgical correction.

  • Utilize ultrasonic instrumentation to create root end or lateral preparations.
