This course is intended not only for orthodontists, but for any practitioner who treats children in their practice. Dr. Kurol will discuss the supervision of occlusal development, as well as the early signs of developmental disturbances and proper time for interception. Tooth eruption disturbances and tooth impactions are important to recognize early, as is ankylosis with subsequent restriction of growth of alveolar bone. Trauma resulting in development disturbances as well as multiple agenesis of teeth complicating the occlusal stability may need a multidiciplinary approach to oral rehabilitation. Special focus will be placed on different treatment solutions, including endosseous implants and autotransplantation. Failures and complications during orthodontic treatment and also unnecessary treatments or interventions will be discussed.
