Description:
Patients would greatly benefit with an early diagnosis and conservative treatment of “Occlusal disease”. Occlusal disease is largely responsible for severe and unnatural tooth wear, fractured teeth and fractured restorations. All this damage requires expensive replacements and rehabilitations. It is also responsible for many undiagnosed and untreated migraines and TMD problems. Often the symptoms go unrecognized and the consequence of secondary occlusal trauma can amplify periodontal damage and ultimately speeds up tooth loss. This disease is no less destructive and costly in the long run compared to the expense related to decay or periodontal disease.
Occlusal philosophies are often complicated and dry, and occlusal treatment is often reserved for the privilege of boutique practices which focus on full mouth rehabilitations. Because occlusal disease is so prevalent and so insidious, treating it could be a huge benefit to our patients, as well as a large profit center. Dr. Ruiz will discuss this subject, presenting a practical and clinical approach to diagnosing and treating the many different stages of occlusal disease. Additionally he will teach a new approach to patient education, a step crucial for treatment acceptance and success.
