Dental CE Course: ACLS Recertification

Participants will receive ACLS Provider Recertification (if test is passed) and 8.5 hours CE credit.
The American Heart Association ACLS Renewal course is designed to provide the latest information in resuscitation science utilizing clinical scenario-based case presentations. The morning session focuses on a science update followed by practice of Basic Life Support and the management of respiratory arrest. The afternoon cases focus on arrest and periarrest situations followed by megacode and written testing. The goal is for each participant to succeed in acquiring the skills and knowledge required for their anticipated role in resuscitation in a dental practice setting.
Pre-course Requirements
Complete the precourse checklist that came with your ACLS Provider Manual. Bring the checklist with you to the course.
Review the course agenda.
Review and understand the information in your ACLS Provider Manual. Pay particular attention to the 10 core cases in Part 4.
The resuscitation scenarios require that your BLS skills and knowledge are current. You are not required to present a current BLS card but must be knowledgeable in current CPR and AED standards. This information is contained in the ECC Handbook as well as your ACLS Provider Manual. You will be tested in adult 1-rescuer CPR and AED skills during the ACLS Course.
Review, understand, and complete the ECG and Pharmacology precourse assessment tests on the ACLS student CD. You will not be taught how to read or interpret ECGs in the course, nor will you be taught details about ACLS pharmacology.
Print your scores for the precourse assessment test and bring them with you to class. This is MANDATORY per the AHA.
