You can immediately progress to the two advanced sessions after completing the introductory course or you can start here if you have previously developed introductory skills by attending Dr. Gerber’s orthodontic and TMJ/Occlusion courses. It is recommended that you have considerable experience in these areas and are competent in the use of the Myo-tronics or BioResearch instrumentation. The objective of this final session is: learn how to develop detailed treatment plans using the various finishing appliances and scans necessary to complete a stabilized functional occlusion. You will learn to finalize occlusion through orthodontic mechanics and selected surgical options. You will learn the application of radiographic techniques, orthodontic appliances, recognizing and defining facial esthetics, recording of final records and scans, retention and case limitations. Additional subjects include: SW advanced mechanics, how to close spaces, correct midlines and correct the over-jet. In addition you will learn neuromuscular functional occlusion and retention techniques from its developer for stable long-term results.
