This presentation will focus on technical and interpretive aspects of the intraoral biopsy including site selection and hands-on experience utilizing punch and scalpel techniques on pig tongues. Proper labeling of specimen containers, completion of the requisition form to comply with “CLIA 88” requirements and providing the pathologist with relevant clinical information will also be covered. A guide to interpreting the pathology report in light of the clinical presentation will be emphasized.
