Dental CE Course: Course V - Biomechanics II: Impressioning, Provisionals and Foundation Restorations

This course is designed to focus on learning predictable impressioning (what to use and when), materials selection and fabrication for direct and indirect provisionalization, and management of structurally compromised teeth (pins, posts or bonding). The limitations of the restorative requirements will be discussed to develop a decision process of when to restore or extract a tooth.

Course Objectives:
-Learn predictable impressioning
-Learn how to create provisional restorations and understand their function
-Understand the need for and the limitations of foundational restorations

This course provides 27 continuing education credit hours and includes lecture, demonstration, case presentation and discussion.

John C. Kois, DMD, MSD - Received his D.M. D. from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine and Certificate in Periodontal Prosthodontics with a M.S.D. degree from the University of Washington, School of Dentistry. He maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics in Tacoma and Seattle and is an Affiliate Professor in the Graduate Restorative Program at the University of Washington. Dr. Kois continues to lecture nationally and internationally, is a reviewer for many journals and is the Editor in Chief for The Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry. Dr. Kois is the recipient of the 2002 Saul Schluger Memorial Award for Clinical Excellence in Diagnosis and Treatment Planning, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from both the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is the past President of both the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry and American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and a member of numerous other professional organizations. In addition, he continues to work with restorative dentists at the Kois Center, a didactic and clinical teaching program.

Only one word comes to mind... Professional. The Kois Center is the most Professional CE I have participated in. I recommend Kois to everyone.

John Kois is one of the best teachers in dentistry. I try to attend his courses as much as my checkbook allows me. I always walk away having learned something that I can immediately apply to my practice. Thanks, John!
