Dental CE Course: Bloodborne Pathogens

The primary objective of this training is to help dental practitioners understand the critical importance and risks of bloodborne pathogens (BBPs), including the most current information on HIV and Hepatitis. This course will provide information about the effects of BBPs and tips for how practitioners in the dental industry can effectively guard against these dangerous pathogens for themselves and their patients. A self-evaluation exercise helps practitioners assess compliance with OSHA standards. The following subjects are explained in this training:
OSHA's bloodborne pathogen regulation.
How bloodborne pathogens can spread from person to person.
How to reduce the risk of exposure to these harmful pathogens, including how to handle sharp instruments and the correct personal protective equipment to use.
How to recognize the effects of disease caused by BBPs.
What to do in case of exposure to dangerous bloodborne pathogens.
