Dental CE Course: American Heart Association Basic Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP)

This hands-on course reviews the skills of CPR for victims for all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, bag-masking device, and oxygen), use of an AED, and relief of a foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It is intended for participants to certify or re-certify participants who provide healthcare to patients in a wide variety of settings.

Required - Course participants MUST complete the online BLS for Healthcare Providers Part 1 to be able to attend this hands-on workshop. Only certificates from the American Heart Association are accepted and MUST be brought by participants to gain admittance to this program.

Upon completion of online BLS for Healthcare Providers Part 1, participants must print out the completion certificate and bring to the course. The online program must be taken within 60 days prior to program date. This online course can be found at www.onlineaha.org. Any online course fees are the responsibility of the course participant. Participants will learn single-rescuer and team basic life support for adults, children and infants through 5 interactive exercises, scenarios and a written test. Will also learn how to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilation and provide early use of an AED. Course also teaches relief of choking.

Participants should wear casual clothes.
