SYNOPSIS:

Seven days of concentrated study in the basics of intravenous sedation for the doctor not previously trained in this technique. The aim of this course is to enable doctors completing it to return to their practices and feel confident in using intravenous sedation on their patients. This course fulfills the dental board requirements for parenteral sedation permits. This is a clinical course requiring the participants to treat dental patients who are receiving intravenous medications. This course devotes considerable time to the technique of venipuncture and the intravenous benzodiazepines midazolam and diazepam. To make the course truly valuable for your office staff, it is recommended that they be urged to attend along with the doctor. To be accepted in this course, participants must have a currently valid basic life support provider level (or higher) card from either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross and the 3 prerequisite courses.
