Join Dr. Patrick Louis and Dr. Pamela Sims for a “Review & Update in Conscious Sedation and General Anesthesia.” This course is designed as an update for dentists or physicians with previous training in Minimal, Moderate and/or Deep Sedation Techniques or General Anesthesia, but would be appropriate for any dentist with a desire to better understand sedation.

The course will provide a review and update in the following areas:

*Pharmacology of various medication used in sedation/general anesthesia

*Risk assessment for sedation/general anesthesia

*Medical conditions and their impact on sedation and anesthetic technique

*Problem patients; an Open Forum.

Participants will have an opportunity to discuss problems they have encountered with various techniques and patients, so potential solutions can be presented.

Educational Methods: Lecture

Tuition: Dentist or Physician: $600 for both days or $395 for one day

CE Hours: 16 hours (These hours do not apply toward certification in IV Sedation.)

Location: UAB School of Dentistry, 1919 7th Ave So. Birmingham, AL
