Course Objectives

-How to evaluate and treatment plan problems of tooth position, midlines, incisal edge position, incisal planes, occlusal planes
-Clarity and understanding in evaluating and treatment planning gummy smiles and aberrant gingival levels around both teeth and implants
-When to consider gingivectomy, osseous surgery, the use of a laser, grafting or orthodontics to correct gingival levels
-A method for eliminating discolored gingiva, including amalgam tattoos
-How to plan and optimize the papilla height and form around both teeth and implants, even when missing multiple teeth
-Six key questions to decide whether to use orthodontics or restorative dentistry to correct tooth alignment
-Clarity about the esthetic materials available today and their uses, focusing upon the esthetic differences between the products
-How to treatment plan tooth contour and arrangement in compromised situations, such as too much or too little space
-How to effectively communicate esthetic information to a laboratory from the diagnostic wax-up, to shade selection, and completion of the restoration
-How to treatment plan anterior tooth replacement, including single-tooth anterior implants in existing ridges, delayed and immediate placement, multiple tooth anterior implants, and the use of ovate pontics with teeth or implants
-The orthodontic and surgical possibilities available to enhance the esthetic outcome for single tooth implants, multiple missing anteriors, or ovate pontics using implants or teeth
