Dental CE Course: Crown Lengthening and Margin Design

In this combined lecture and hands-on course, current concepts of clinical crown lengthening procedures and restoration margin designs will be discussed and pertinent clinical techniques practiced in a simulation lab. Please note, a list of required items for you to bring will be given to you when you register for this course. The following topics will be covered:
Restorations and biological width
Clinical crown lengthening
Incision design
Periodontal flap design
Resective osseous surgery
Suture technique
Non-traumatic preparation diamonds and auxiliary devices
Crown preparation technique with minimal trauma to periodontal tissues
Course Objectives - As a result of attending this course, the participant should be able to:
Apply the concept of biological width to clinical situations
Determine when clinical crown lengthening is beneficial
Understand surgical technique
Be proficient in crown preparation techniques that minimize or prevent trauma to periodontal soft and hard tissues
