As dental implant treatment continues to be the standard of care in the dental industry, dental clinicians are faced with treating surgical and restorative complications that arise from dental implant treatment. Complications can occur for a multitude of reasons: improper treatment planning or site augmentation; sinus membrane tears; soft tissue mismanagement; implant malpositioning; and peri-implantitis.
Clinicians are also faced with the shadow of litigation by any patient who has experienced one of these complications. This one-day symposium brings together top surgeons and restorative clinicians in dental implant therapy to discuss common complications encountered in the modern dental practice. Topics discussed will help clinicians identify and address implant complications, understand the reasons they occur, determine treatment and solutions, and understand how to avoid them. Complications can be avoided through prevention methodologies that include proper planning, patient selection and timely treatment. Additionally, important legal considerations will be discussed with an emphasis on avoiding and handling litigation related to implant complications.
