Disease, illness, and mortality—not subjects that we want to have associated with our dental offices! This course will guide you through a myriad of topics including specific pathogens we can unknowingly harbor as well as ways to reduce disease transmission and susceptibility. This course satisfies the Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama requirement for training on infectious disease control as it relates to the dental office or to the practice of dentistry or dental hygiene.

Dr. Ken Tilashalski ("Dr. T") is quite unique in that he has earned specialty certificates in both oral & maxillofacial pathology and endodontics. He has been on faculty at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for over 17 years, and holds dual appointments as an associate professor in the Schools of Dentistry and Medicine. He also has a leadership role at the dental school and serves as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
