Dental CE Course: Mastery Level Treatment Planning

2 Reviews

Course Objectives:

Through the use of treatment-planning decision trees, gain confidence and skill in knowing which treatment options are available for a number of common but complex dental problems. Learn how to clearly present the advantages and disadvantages of each option to your patients, enhancing your relationship with them and their commitment to choosing the best care.

Participants Will Learn:

-Decision trees: Road maps that walk a clinician through treatment options for specific problems, showing the risks and benefits of each. Decision trees also provide a step-by-step process of what to evaluate clinically to determine which option may be best for your patient.
-More than 20 decision trees covering everything from excessive or inadequate tooth display to a single missing central incisor. What needs to be evaluated to select the best method of replacement for a patient with multiple severely worn teeth.
-How each decision tree is designed around a key set of clinical parameters and, by learning those parameters, the same decision tree can guide you through the treatment planning process on cases with those problems
-To help you find the appropriate decision tree for your treatment planning, each tree includes parameters and patient photos for the specific condition being addressed. Comparing your patient photos to those in the decision trees will help you to quickly identify the right tree for your patient’s condition.
-How to show and discuss treatment options with patients so they are not scared away, but are engaged in the process and understand the risks and benefits of treatment. For each technique addressed by the decision trees, before-and-after example photos are provided.
-The importance of predicting the outcome of treatment prior to commencing treatment. The realistic outcomes for many different treatment options we have today, specifically concerning the restoration of worn dentitions and tooth replacement in the esthetic zone.
-How the availability of new techniques and materials may change the predictability of many of our treatment options in the future
-How to discuss treatment sequencing and phasing of treatment with patients
-How to set fees for complex interdisciplinary type cases

Whether I do the online CE or the workshops Spear takes care of me. I try my hardest to make Spear the only place that I do my CE.
