This course is also approved for certification and training for dental auxiliaries in Florida, as per Florida Board of Dentistry Rule 64B5-14.004; Dental Assistants And Dental Hygienists may monitor nitrous-oxide inhalation analgesia under the direct supervision of a permitted dentist under the following conditions: 1) Satisfactory completion of no less than a two-day course of training as described in the American Dental Associations' "Guidelines for Teaching and Comprehensive Control of Pain and Anxiety in Dentistry" or its equivalent, and 2) Maintenance of competency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. (Also approved in Georgia).
