Learn how to provide occlusal stability through functional and anatomical harmony. You will gain an understanding of centric relation, vertical dimension, neutral zone, occlusal plane and anterior guidance. In addition, you will benefit from hands-on experience with: 1) occlusal records, 2) articulators, 3) occlusal equilibration, 4) anterior previews, and 5) custom incisal guide tables. A working knowledge of all of these elements is essential for the restoration of complex esthetic cases.
You will learn how to:
complete a physical examination which includes occlusal records.
perform an incisal edge mock-up with composite materials.
record centric relation, as well as protrusive and lateral positions.
evaluate occlussal records.
perform occlusal equilibration, as needed.
A patient is not needed for this module, since you will be working on each other as patients.
