The trend is that the posterior composite restoration is soon to exceed that of posterior amalgam placement. The use of direct resins under various conditions can create challenges to the dentist if the correct chemistry, material choices, techniques, and function is not in line. Need for understanding more about the timing, applications, material limitations, curing, and form is imperative for the longevity of our composite restorations. Items which will be discussed and practiced in the hands on portion of the course.
