Learning Objectives: Sinus Grafting for the Beginner and Experienced Implant Surgeon
This course contains the most state-of-the-art and current concepts being used in the reconstruction of the atrophic posterior maxillae with pneumatized sinus cavities. The techniques presented and demonstrated are the basis for LONG TERM SUCCESS in implant dentistry for the reconstruction of the posterior maxillae.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand current concepts in sinus grafting procedures with autogenous and allogenic bone grafting material
- Understand the mechanics and biomechanics of bone grafting materials
- Understand when to sinus lift versus socket lift
- Understand when to graft only versus graft and place implants simultaneously into the sinus

- Perform adequate treatment planning for sinus grafting procedures
- Perform appropriate incision techniques
- Perform adequate access opening into the sinus cavity
- Guided bone regeneration techniques
- Comprehensive review of suturing techniques
- Perform appropriate suturing techniques and wound healing procedures
- Platelet Rich Plasma workshop, harvest and fabrication
- Treatment of single to multiple tooth implant sites
- Adequate fixture placement procedures after the prescribed healing phase
- Appreciate seven-plus year follow-up and post-loading documentation
- Histological evaluations on grafted sites
