Dental CE Course: Sleep Medicine Mini-Residency

There is a growing interest among the dental profession to learn how to treat patients with sleep disordered breathing with oral appliances. The ability to have a continuum of education that will afford this opportunity in a structured fashion is not readily available at the present time. The UCLA mini-residency program is designed to offer a comprehensive experience for the practicing dentist that will connect the medical and dental aspects to this medical disorder. At the completion of the program, the dentist will be well trained and have the ability to competently provide care for these patients. The mini-residency will take place over 4 sessions (1 day per month) for a 4 month period. The course will be comprised of lectures on dental sleep medicine and clinical hands-on experience that will culminate in the actual delivery, adjusting and modification of an oral appliance for an optimal outcome.
