The all-ceramic crown has become the restoration of choice for so many dentists and patients alike. However, the success of this restoration is dependent on the dentist’s attention to detail in treatment planning, tooth preparation, as well as coping design. Despite the high success rate with these restorations there is still a small percent of failure. The major causes of these failures will be discussed. This presentation will also deal with principles of success of the all-ceramic crown focusing on simplified but efficient tooth preparation techniques.
