Dental CE Course: Redifining Perioplastic Surgery

Most soft tissue grafting for recession can now be done without palate surgery. Acellular dermis is as effective as connective tissue when used with a simplified technique that eliminates tedious tunneling. Implant site augmentation with acellular dermis generates wider attachment and keratinized gingiva around implants.
Biologic growth factors Platelet-Rich Plasma and Enamel Matrix Derivative produce rapid soft tissue healing and predictable reattachment.

Objectives: * Recognize the abundance of recession defects in general practice-diagnose and treatment plan for predictable results.
* Review anatomy, biology and blood supply of gingival soft tissues.
* Identify where and how to use acellular dermis, to treat recession sites gaining root coverage and reattachment.
* Learn the keys to implant site soft tissue augmentation with acellular dermis.
* Observe details of new soft tissue surgery techniques with live video.
* Understand the key principles for success in flap design and soft tissue suturing with hands-on soft tissue model surgery.
* Enable participants to treat multiple recession sites in a single surgical visit.
* Anticipate and prevent complications in soft tissue grafting to treat recession.
* Understand the value of platelet-rich plasma, - enamel matrix derivative in soft tissue healing .
